According to data from the online query platform of the General Administration of Customs, China’s cotton imports were 70,040.46 tons in May, a 44% decrease from the previous month and a 60.7% decrease from the same period last year.
The United States was the largest supplier in May, and China imported 41,167 tons of cotton from the United States in May, which fell 41% month-on-month and 34.7% year-on-year.
China imported 13,405.14 tons of cotton from Brazil in May, a significant decrease of 47% month-on-month and a substantial decrease of nearly 50% year-on-year.
