As of now, most of Australia’s new cotton in 2020 has been sold to Chinese customers in advance. If sufficient irrigation water is available, cotton production in 2021 is expected to triple year-on-year.
According to the Australian Cotton Association, since this year, Australian cotton has been exported to China at a fairly good price. Despite the low output this year, the quality of Australian cotton is still excellent. The output of Australian cotton this year is only 550,000 bales. In the next year, if the water supply continues to improve, the output of Australian cotton may reach 1.7 million bales, which is three times that of this year.
