The 18th China (Dalang) International Woollen Knitwear Fair to be held this November

The 18th China (Dalang) International Woollen Knitwear Fair (hereinafter referred to as“CIWKF”) held a press conference in Beijing on July 5th. Yang Jichao, Vice President of China National Textile and Apparel Council, Peng Yanli, President of China Wool Textile Industry Association, Lin Yunfeng, Vice President of CCPIT TEX, Wei Lin, Consultant of China National Garment Association and Vice President of China Textile Enterprise Association, and guests from Dongguan City, including Xie Jinbo, Party Secretary of Dalang Town, Ye Jianhua, Deputy Chairman of Dalang Town People’s Congress, Chen Zhuquan, Director of Wool Textile Industry Management Committee of Dalang Town, and Ye Peihua, President of Dongguan Wool Textile Industry Association, as well as relevant associations and nearly 100 media attended the event.
It is reported that the 18th CIWKF will be held from November 2nd to 7th at Dalang Knitwear Trade Center. Themed on “Smart Manufacturing • New Knitwear City”, this edition will strive to create the best trade communication and technology promotion platform for the woollen industry, and promote the upgrading of the traditional wool industry into a fashion industry, a smart industry and a cultural industry, focusing on the development trend of “Original Design, New Yarn, Intelligent Manufacturing”.
Inheritance — Interpretation of the new charm of the new knitwear city
Since 2001, Dalang has successfully witnessed 17 editions of the fair, constantly making breakthroughs from form to content, from business to life, and from brand to culture, which plays an important role in promoting the development of Dalang knitwear industry and strengthening regional economic cooperation.
As one of the main contents of the fair, in recent years, intelligent equipment such as seamless looms and intelligent design has developed rapidly, while the share of machinery has been continuously expanded, and the turnover has been increasing. CIWKF has become an important platform for publicity and technology promotion of textile machinery enterprises at home and abroad. Seamless looms manufacturers such as Stoll, Shima Seiki, and Cixing are attracted to establish sales and display centers in Dalang, including that of Cixing in Dalang Global Trade Plaza, covering an area of over 1,000 square meters, which is equipped with such functions such as talent training, trend research and product development. Shengli, Chuanfeng and other companies in Dalang have taken the lead in using seamless looms.
Transformation — new highlights to be unveiled
For this edition, there will be a special hall for machinery in response to the theme of “Smart Manufacturing”. It is introduced that there are about 2,000 booths, and the exhibits cover the entire industrial chain, including sweaters, machinery, yarns, accessories and spare parts, further promoting the transformation and upgrading of Dalang knitwear to smart manufacturing industry, fashion industry and cultural industry.
This year, driven by the three major trends of new yarns, original design and intelligent manufacturing, Dalang will further expand the scale of its featured exhibition area and adopt a series of innovative measures to make the exhibition more professional, leading and effective in order to enrich the connotation of the fair.
In terms of new yarns, in recent years, the fair has actively promoted new materials and application technologies such as nano-coating waterproof technology, polyimide fireproof materials, graphene internal heating materials and natural plant dyeing technology to promote the traditional textile industry to a sustainable and high-end fashion development. This year, the fair will further deepen cooperation with domestic and foreign textile leading enterprises, continue to dig deep into the scientific and technological attributes of the textile industry, and create a new yarn area with high quality, which will continue to be the highlight of the exhibition.
In terms of original design, Dalang continued to carry out many design activities related to original design, such as design competition, online design competition, skill competition, trend release, and designer annual meeting. At present, there are more than 1,300 intermediate and senior designers in the town, who are contributing to the continuously improved added value and industry competitiveness of Dalang knitwear through the collaborative innovation of yarn, design, intelligent manufacturing and brand.
In addition to creating new highlights, Dalang will also strengthen the promotion of the fair by participating in the PH Value in Shanghai and holding the “Dalang Knitwear Domestic Tour” for the popularity of the fair.
It is worth mentioning that Dalang also urged the domestic wool industry clusters to strengthen interaction and cooperation. It is reported that Puyuan and Qinghe have initially determined that they will participate in the fair. In addition, supporting professional activities such as multinational buyers’ procurement matchmaking will further enrich the content and functions of the fair.
Integration — Ongoing comprehensive and in-depth development
Dalang knitwear, enjoying a good industrial foundation, is the most developed industry in Dalang, and also the most important business card of Dalang. The town has more than 14,000 wool-related enterprises. The annual turnover of the knitwear products is 60 billion yuan. One out of every 5 sweaters in the world comes from Dalang. Among the 22 national business cards in the town, 15 are knitwear related.
This year, the theme of CIWKF is still focusing on “New Knitwear City”, once again closely following the idea of the integration and development of Dalang Knitwear People. Located in the important node of Dawan District of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, Dalang adheres to the implementation of innovation-driven strategy and urban quality improvement plan to create the first color city in the province, create the first demonstration project of the township people’s congress in the province, and cooperate with the promotion of the construction of National Comprehensive Science Center. It is expected to bring together high-end talents and top equipment at home and abroad, undertake high-end R&D and design projects in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, and continuously strengthen the connection with fashion resources in Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. At the same time, they will seize the opportunity of building a one-hour life circle in Dawan District, and further optimize the soft and hard environment of Dalang Knitwear, in order to attract outstanding designers and design institutions from neighboring cities such as Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Shenzhen to settle in Dalang to solve the problem of lack of technical talents in the woollen industry.

With the development of the wool industry, Dalang’s comprehensive strength and popularity have been continuously improved. In 2018, Dalang achieved a GDP of 30.35 billion yuan, a growth rate of 8.5%, and its economic strength ranked 35th among the top 1,000 towns in the country, an increase of 4 places over the previous year.
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China, Dalang Town will focus on the overall requirements of building “Bay Area City, Quality Dongguan”, with “Technology, Fashion, Sustainability” as the new positioning, new label and new cognition, making a success of the 18th CIWKF to create a “Dalang model” for the modern breakthrough of China’s wool industry clusters.
