Press Conference for the 3rd China Textile Intangible Cultural Heritage Conference was held in Beijing on July 3rd, 2019, announcing the organization, theme, date, venue, main content and related activities of the conference to dozens of media, and witnessing a launching ceremony of the conference as well as a series of activities.
 



The organizer stated that on the basis of the successful holding of two sessions of the conference, the following edition will further enhance the brand influence and appeal of the conference, gradually improve the functions of the exchange and cooperation platform, and further strengthen the authoritative, professional, academic, impartial, and sustainable features the conference. 



 
The 3rd China Textile Intangible Cultural Heritage Conference was sponsored by China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC), and co-organized by Intangible Cultural Heritage Office of CNTAC, CNTAC News Center, Kunming University, Beijing Capital Land - Kunming Company, and BCL Intangible Cultural Heritage Innovation Platform. Themed on “The integration of culture and tourism empowers the inheritance and innovation of intangible cultural heritage”, the conference will be held in Kunming, Yunnan province in early November 2019. The main contents will include: keynote conference, theme forum, exhibition, experience activities, costume performance, cooperation signing, and the awarding ceremony for the selection of “Beijing Capital Land Cup” 2019 China Textile Intangible Cultural Heritage Promotion Ambassadors and the collection of “Beijing Capital Land Cup” The 3rd China Textile Intangible Cultural Heritage Souvenirs, as well as exhibition of Excellent microfilms that “I and Intangible Cultural Heritage” celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China and the release of “China Textile Intangible Cultural Heritage Development Report (2018/2019)”.

China, Gao Yong, Party Secretary and Secretary General of CNTAC, Sun Huaibin, Vice President of CNTAC, Duan Hong, Director of CNTAC Office, Hua Shan, Director of China Textile Economic Research Center, Li Sumei, President of Kunming University, Duan Zhiyi, Dean of the Academy of Fine Arts and Art Design, Liu Yong, Director of Kunming University Office, and Gui Yu, Secretary of Scientific Research of Kunming University. And the relevant guests from Beijing Capital Land, including the Standing Committee Member and Deputy General Manager Su Zhaohui and Party Secretary Li Xiaobin, together with more than 50 media representatives attended the conference.

The press conference elaborated in detail the them “The integration of culture and tourism empowers the inheritance and innovation of intangible cultural heritage”, clarifying that the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage should be combined with major national strategies such as cultural and tourism integration development, while actively promoting the national strategy of integrating the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage  protection into the integration of cultural tourism. On the basis of strengthening protection and inheritance, it is a must to increase the exploration of intangible cultural heritage of textiles, injecting higher quality and more attractive cultural content into regional economic and tourism development. Meanwhile, the unique advantages of tourism will also inject new impetus into the protection & utilization and inheritance & innovation of traditional culture and craftsmanship of textile.








The venue of this session is to be in Kunming, Yunnan province for the purpose to give full play to the regional advantages of the multi-ethnic resources in that area, and to combine the major strategies of national cultural tourism to identify the best way in order to combine the protection and innovation of textile intangible cultural heritage in the development of culture and tourism. It is to promote the integration of all ethnic textiles in multi-faceted fields of culture and tourism, to achieve resource sharing and complementary advantages, providing new engines and new powers to the development of intangible cultural heritage, cultural construction and tourism development of all ethnic groups. It is to accurately create a number of high-quality cultural and travel products with local characteristics, reflecting the excellent traditional culture of textiles and exquisite craftsmanship, accelerating the internationalization level of cultural tourism integration and development, disseminating national skills, and telling good traditional stories, enhancing brand image, providing better and more traditional and high-quality tourism products and services to the public, so as to enhance the public’s sense of acquisition and happiness, and satisfy people’s yearning for and pursuit of a better life.









 
This edition will continue the good cooperation with Beijing Capital Land, and clarify that the two activities, the selection of “Beijing Capital Land Cup” 2019 China Textile Intangible Cultural Heritage Promotion Ambassadors and the collection of “Beijing Capital Land Cup” The 3rd China Textile Intangible Cultural Heritage Souvenirs, will continue to be carried out as annual brand events of the Conference with enriched contents. Details of the two activities will be published in real time through the official website of China National Textile and Apparel Council, the core magazines and the official Wechat account of China Textile Intangible Cultural Heritage Conference.






 
After the press conference, the guests and the media also visited China Textile Intangible Cultural Heritage Creative Space, Creation Exhibition Hall, and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition jointly held by CNTAC and BCL Intangible Cultural Heritage. The exhibits covered such intangible cultural heritage items as textiles, utensils, decorations and jewelries from six different regions of China. They not only bear the culture of the millennium but also have practicality, so that the inheritance of civilization can be reborn in the vast time. Yong Yuan, located in the core area of the Capital with a significant regional cultural value, is the first Intangible Cultural Heritage Creation Park in China. In the space of 14,000 square meters, Yong Yuan will carry a variety of formats, such as intangible cultural heritage creation, research and development, design, trial production, display, sales, experience, training, etc., to promote the creative transformation and innovative development of intangible cultural heritage.
