The total profit of industrial textile enterprises above designated size is 36.53 billion yuan in 2020

In 2020, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the production of pandemic prevention materials by Chinese industrial textile companies drived the entire industry’s production, sales, exports and profits to increase significantly.

Data show that in 2020, the industrial added value of industrial textile enterprises above designated size in China increased by 54.1 percent year-on-year; enterprises above designated size achieved operating income of 319.84 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 32.6 percent; total profits was 36.53 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 203.2 percent; profit margin 11.4 percent, an increase of 6.4 percent over the previous year. Among them, the operating income of nonwovens enterprises above designated size was 175.28 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 54 percent; the total profit was 24.52 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 328.1 percent.
 
In 2020, China’s nonwovens export volume was 1.289 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 32.2 percent; the export value was USD 5.05 billion, a year-on-year increase of 62.5 percent. The export of disposable sanitary products such as diapers and sanitary napkins was USD 2.27 billion, a year-on-year increase of 8.6 percent. From March to December 2020, China has exported 224.2 billion masks, including 65 billion medical masks; exported 2.31 billion protective clothing, including 773 million medical protective clothing.
