Zhuzhou apparel industry is the largest apparel industry cluster in Hunan and even the central region. After 40 years of development, the scale of Zhuzhou apparel industry in 2020 was 101.53 billion yuan. It became the second 100 billion industrial cluster in Zhuzhou after the rail transit industry.

The results of a special survey on the apparel industry chain in Zhuzhou show that in 2020, the scale of Zhuzhou apparel industry in 2020 was 101.53 billion yuan, of which: the total scale of industry was 34.64 billion yuan, the total scale of wholesale and retail was 51.45 billion yuan, and the total service industry related to the apparel industry was 15.44 billion yuan. There are 1,998 corporate enterprises and 40,652 self-employed businesses; there are 235,000 employees.

 

The apparel industry chain employees accounted for 9.6% of the city’s employees, attracting about 300,000 people from outside the province to settle in Zhuzhou, driving the rapid development of supporting industries and related industries such as real estate, catering and entertainment.

 

At present, Zhuzhou has formed a complete industrial chain integrating R&D and design, fabric and accessories supply, clothing production, sales, testing, warehousing and logistics, and services. Standing at the new starting point of the 14th Five-Year Plan, Zhuzhou apparel industry is seeking new development, striving to reach a total scale of 200 billion yuan by 2025.
