CNNIC: China’s e-commerce live broadcast users reach 309 million

The China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) recently released the 46th “Statistical Report on China’s Internet Development Status”. The “Report” shows that as of June 2020, the number of online live broadcast users in China reached 309 million, an increase of 16.7% over March 2020, becoming the fastest growing personal Internet application in the first half of the year.

The “Report” also pointed out that as of June 2020, the number of Chinese Internet users has reached 940 million. Among them, the scale of online retail users reached 749 million, accounting for 79.7% of the total netizens, and the market remained the world’s first for seven consecutive years; the scale of online payment users reached 805 million, accounting for 85.7% of the total netizens, and the scale of the mobile payment market was the largest in the world for three consecutive years.
 
According to the “E-Commerce News”, according to business big data monitoring, in the first half of this year, e-commerce live broadcasts exceeded 10 million, the number of active anchors exceeded 400,000, the number of viewers exceeded 50 billion, and the number of products on the shelves exceeded 20 million.
 
According to a September report by the “Nanfang Daily”, on September 21, the first national live e-commerce standard “Basic Standards for Live Shopping Operations and Services” was released in Guangzhou. This standard regulates many aspects and forms a multi-party joint industry standard norms and smart effective supervision.
