U.S. imports of cotton, wool, man-made fiber, silk blends, and non-cotton, vegetable fiber textile and apparel products totaled 3,544.8 million square meter equivalents (MSME) in May 2020, a decline of 42.0% compared to May 2019, of which, that of China were 1,763.5 MSME, a decline of 37.6% compared to May 2019. U.S. imports of textiles were 2,594.2 MSME in May 2020, down 32.2% from May 2019. U.S. imports of apparel were 950.5 MSME in May 2020, down 58.3% from May 2019.

U.S. imports of textile and apparel were 22,210.3 MSME for the year-to-date May 2020, a decline of 19.9% from year-to-date May 2019, of which, that of China were 8,413.3 MSME, a decline of 29.7% compared to May 2019. U.S. imports of textiles were 14043.7 MSME for the year-to-date May 2020, a decline of 15.5% from the year-to-date May 2019. U.S. apparel imports for the year-to-date May 2020 were 8166.6 MSME, down 26.5% from the year-to-date May 2019.
