With the rapid resumption of production in the domestic textile industry, the demand for imported cotton has increased substantially. Guangzhou Customs implemented the reform measures, optimized the supervision of imported cotton, and actively supported the import of cotton and other raw materials. The latest data shows that from January to April this year, Guangzhou Customs inspected 4627.8 tons of imported cotton, an increase of 1.3 times year-on-year.

The apparel and textile industry has always been one of Guangdong’s traditional advantageous industries. In order to help enterprises to fully resume their production, Guangzhou Customs effectively optimized the supervision of imported cotton, and added a new cotton sugar content detection project to help enterprises find the problem of strength shortage caused by the high sugar content of imported cotton.
