On April 24, the video survey meeting of the National Textile Park in the spring of 2020 was held in Jiangxi. Leaders from relevant industry associations in Jiangxi Province, textile industrial parks, and enterprise representatives attended the meeting, highlighting the current situation of the industry under the pandemic situation, and the situation of self-help, and made recommendations.
It is understood that as of April 1, the resumption rate of textile enterprises in Jiangxi reached 98.4%, the rate of arrival of workers reached 91.4%, the resumption rate of textile enterprises above designated size reached 98.6%, and the rate of arrival of workers reached 81.6%.
Zhao Zijian, secretary general of the Jiangxi Provincial Textile Industry Association, said that at present, foreign trade exports are blocked and domestic demand is insufficient. It has become the most important factor restricting the resumption of production of various clusters, parks, and some parts of the region have been suspended before resuming work. The main reason is that the domestic consumer market has not yet fully recovered, and the domestic sales market is far from the level of the same period in the past. In addition, foreign pandemics broke out on a large scale, and foreign trade orders and logistics have been greatly affected, so some companies that mainly focus on foreign trade sales have stopped work again, waiting for resumption of production.
Facing difficulties, Zhao Zijian suggested that the government help enterprises to go abroad and develop markets. Taking the EEKA Fashion as an example, the conversion of protective clothing has not obtained the certification of the corresponding country (CE/FDA), and it is unable to undertake foreign protective clothing processing orders. These certifications have a long processing cycle, which requires Jiangxi enterprises and monitoring and certification agencies to coordinate and cooperate, we should consider establishing a Jiangxi medical protective clothing export alliance to share resources and qualifications.
The impact of the pandemic on the industry cannot be over in the short term. Enterprises must do everything possible to save themselves, and localities should communicate more about self-help measures. In the long run, the Jiangxi textile industry needs to find the correct positioning, focus on sustainable development, pay attention to seize the opportunities of the industrial Internet and intelligent manufacturing, base on advanced manufacturing, and achieve industrial upgrading on the basis of improving labor productivity.
