On the morning of March 1, 2019, Zhou Ling, CEO of YakNorbu Brand, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Zheng Jinhua, Chairman of Shepherd's Clothing in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province, and set up YakNorbu Animal Fiber Research Center. The central laboratory and related factories cover an area of 37,000 square meters, with an annual output of 6,000,000 meters of fabrics and 4000,000 garments.

At present, up to 35% of the plastic particulate pollutants in the ocean come from synthetic fibers in clothing, which fall off into the environment during the use and washing of clothing. The world's population is growing, and the demand for plastic and man-made fibers in clothing is increasing, so this number will continue to rise. In contrast, yak wool and other natural fibers more easily biodegradable, less impact on the environment, YakNorbu Animal Fiber Research Center is committed to sustainable development of the fashion industry, the development of more green fabrics and clothing, to build a healthy planet to contribute their strength.

At this stage, the center has successfully developed the finest 15-micron yak suede fabric in the global market, and woven into double yarn sweater, double-sided cloth, pulled wool cloth, Terry cloth, shuttle cloth, rollers and so on. The yak velvet fiber developed by the center has excellent air permeability. It can absorb a lot of moisture and evaporate it smoothly, making clothes more dry and comfortable than clothes made of other fibers. Compared with synthetic fibers, yak velvet fibers are active fibers, which can produce dynamic response according to body temperature changes and give people a sense of comfort. YakNorbu yak velvet and wool fabrics pass through the world's major fabrics exhibitions and fashion week, such as: French PV exhibition, Munich IXPO exhibition, New York Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, etc. It shows the world's professional businessmen the scientific and technological content of China's wool textile industry and the bright prospects of animal fiber industry. The center will continue to challenge the technical bottleneck of traditional wool textile industry and develop more technological and functional fabrics and clothing.
