2025 The 8th World Textile Merchandising Press Conference Held in Beijing

Beijing, October 11, the press conference for 2025 the 8th World Textile Merchandising Conference was held. It was announced that the Conference will take place on November 6, 2025, in Keqiao, Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province. Over ten events are scheduled, including the 2025 WGSN Fashion Future Conference, the 2025 Keqiao Fashion Week (Autumn Edition), and the 27th China Shaoxing Keqiao International Textile Expo (Autumn Edition).



Forging consensus amid restructuring
 
"The textile and apparel industry is an economic link connecting global markets, a bridge for converging diverse cultures, and a platform for fostering industrial integration," stated Sun Ruizhe, President of the China National Textile and Apparel Council. He emphasized that global industrial and value chains are undergoing systemic restructuring.



He outlined three key drivers for shaping the future of the global textile industry: First, Openness for Development. Promoting the efficient flow and optimal allocation of capital, technology, talent, and data globally to counter uncertainty with maximum openness. Second, Collaborative Innovation. Empowering industrial upgrading with "AI" and ensuring the fruits of technological innovation benefit the global textile industry. Third, Responsibility and Commitment. Making sustainability the fundamental principle for industrial development and the core of value creation.
 
New initiatives in global competition and cooperation
 
As a pivotal hub of the global textile industry, Keqiao has consistently been at the forefront of reform and opening up. Yuan Jian, Secretary of the Keqiao District Committee of Shaoxing City, presented the district's achievements in high-quality textile industry development this year. He reported that in the first three quarters, Keqiao achieved a GDP of approximately 175 billion yuan, representing a growth of around 7.4%. Export value reached 136 billion yuan, growing over 10%, while the total transaction volume at the China Textile City reached nearly 329.19 billion yuan, also a 10% increase.



Yuan Jian added that the conference has extensively engaged with international organizations, industry associations, renowned brands, and leading enterprises from over 60 key countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Japan, and South Korea. Insiders from relevant national ministries, international business circles, academia, and industry, along with domestic and international suppliers, purchasers, and service providers, will gather in Keqiao.



Over the past eight years, the World Textile Merchandising Conference has become a vital barometer for the development of the global textile industry. This year's conference will continue its mission, providing new pattern for the global textile industry to seize opportunities amidst transformation and forge a future through competition and cooperation.
