From May 14 to 17, 2025, at the invitation of the Hellenic Clothing Industry Association and the Greek Enterprise Bureau, Sun Ruizhe, president of the China National Textile and Apparel Council (hereinafter referred to as CNTAC), led a team to visit Greece to carry out industrial communication and economic cooperation. This visit not only deepened the mutual trust and cooperation in the textile between China and Greece but also opened up new pathways for bilateral industrial connections.

Xu Yingxin, Vice President of CNTAC and President of the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Yuan Hongping, Foreign Affairs Commissioner of CNTAC, Dong Kuiyong, President of China Cotton Textile Association, Guan Xiaorui, Vice President of China Chemical Fibers Association, Cong Zheng, Secretary-General of  China Textile Machinery Association, and representatives of industry enterprises visited together.

The delegation visited the benchmark companies in the Greek textile, including Nafparktos Yarns, a high-end yarn manufacturer, Fidas, a well-known shoes company, and MAT, a womenswear brand, focusing on sustainable development and innovative practices, and exploring the potential of technical cooperation and market complementarity.

On May 16, the China-Greece Textile Economic and Trade Exchange Conference co-sponsored by the Greek Enterprise Bureau, the Hellenic Clothing Industry Association and the CNTAC was held in Athens, with more than 100 representatives from the two countries participating. 

 

Chinese Ambassador Fang Qiu was invited to attend. He stressed that economic globalization is the trend of the times, and maintaining international free trade is the key to promoting the global economic recovery. In today's challenges of globalization, China and Greece should work together to create a new picture of the industry with the cooperation of the textile industry.

 

Sun Ruizhe stated that under the complex situation of economic globalization, China's textile industry has demonstrated good development resilience. The textile industry is an important foundational industry both in China and Greece, and also an important component of trade cooperation between the two countries. The textile and garment industry needs to further enhance exchanges and inject new power into the development in the two countries and even the world.

 

 

From May 18th to 21st, Sun Ruizhe, the President of the CNTAC, led a delegation to visit Switzerland to participate in the International Textile Machinery Symposium and Decision-making Committee conference, and to visit local industry enterprises. This visit is invited by the International Textile Machinery Federation (hereinafter referred to as ITMF), the Swiss Textile Machinery Association, and the Swiss Textile Association.

On May 20th, the International Textile Machinery Symposium was held in Zurich, Switzerland. Nearly 150 industry representatives from over 20 countries and regions around the world attended the conference. At the meeting, Sun Ruizhe delivered a speech titled " The Status Quo And Prospect of China’s Textile and Apparel Industry ". 

On May 21st, the Decision-making committee meeting of the ITMF was held in Zurich. Former chairman of the ITMF, Sun Ruizhe, and members of ITMF Xu Yingxin and Yan Yan, attended the meeting. The meeting discussed topics such as the preparation for the Indonesia (2025) and Brazil (2026) annual conferences, the investigation and report of the global textile industry, the visit of the 2025 Spinning Committee to Brazil, and the election of the 2025 Decision-making Committee.
