On September 30th, the press conference of the 7th World Textile Merchandising Conference was held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. The Conference will be held on October 23-26, 2024 in conjunction with the 2024 WGSN Fashion Future Conference, the 26th China Shaoxing Keqiao International Textile Expo (Autumn), and the 2024 Keqiao Fashion Week (Autumn) in Keqiao, Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province.

The World Textile Merchandising Conference has been successfully held for six times since 2018. In 2024, the 7th conference will be held under the theme of “Fashion Realm, New Quality Future”, and it will explore the significance of new quality productivity empowering the global textile industry, and look forward to a new future of mutual benefit and win-win situation for the global textile industry.

 

Sun Ruizhe, president of China National Textile and Apparel Council, said in his speech that textile and garment is a global industry that promotes market connection, cultural communication and industrial integration, and is a global sample of cross-regional, cross-racial and cross-civilization cooperation. Facing the future development, he put forward three initiatives: Firstly, to drive regional economic and social development by industrial development; and to satisfy people's pursuit of a better life with better textile products. Second, adhere to openness and build an equal, innovative and inclusive industrial ecology. Third, to promote sustainable development around digital intelligence, greening, high-end and integration.

 

Keqiao is a dynamic city of openness and innovation. Keqiao’s comprehensive strength ranked from the 12th in 2018 to the 8th in 2024, and “Keqiao Textile” has become the first textile regional brand with a value of more than 100 billion.

 

Chen Hao, secretary of the CPC Shaoxing Keqiao District, said that the organizing committee of the conference has contacted more than 60 countries and regions, international institutions, associations, well-known brands and representatives of leading enterprises in the industry. At that time, the relevant state ministries and commissions, the international business community, academia, industry elites, as well as domestic and foreign suppliers, buyers, service providers and so on will gather Keqiao. During the same period of the conference, WGSN and WTiN, the world-renowned trend research and forecasting organization from the United Kingdom, will cooperate to hold the “WGSN Fashion Future Conference” and the “2024 International Textile Innovation Conference” respectively, inviting guests from the US, the UK, Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, Portugal, Austria, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and other countries and regions. In addition, Fashion Trend 2025 and Global Textile Industry Trend Outlook Report 2025 will be released during the event.
