Global exports of long-staple cotton in 2020/2021 will be 303,570 tons, up 35,480 tons from the previous forecast, according to the latest long staple cotton report released by the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC).
Global long-staple cotton production, which has declined for three consecutive years, is expected to reach 281,000 tons in 2021/2022, down 15 percent year-on-year, with India, the U.S., Egypt and China producing the most, according to the ICB. U.S. pima cotton production is expected to be 73,000 tons, down 39 percent year-on-year.
