According to data released by the General Administration of Customs of China on April 13, textile and apparel exports achieved rapid growth in the first quarter, and apparel exports grew faster than textiles.

The total value of import and export of goods in China is calculated in RMB: from January to March 2021, the total value of import and export of goods was 8.46 trillion yuan, up by 29.2 percent over the same period last year (the same below), among which the export was 4.61 trillion yuan, up by 38.7 percent, and the import was 3.85 trillion yuan, up by 19.3 percent. In March, imports and exports reached 3.02 trillion yuan, up 24.0 percent, among which exports reached 1.55 trillion yuan, up 20.7 percent, and imports reached 1.46 trillion yuan, up 27.7 percent.

 

The total value of import and export of goods in China is calculated in USD, from January to March 2021, the total value of import and export of goods was USD 1,303.6 billion, up by 38.6 percent over the same period last year, among which the export was USD 709.98 billion, up by 49.0 percent, and the import was USD 593.62 billion, up by 28.0 percent. In March, imports and exports reached USD 468.47 billion, up 34.2 percent, among which exports reached USD 241.13 billion, up 30.6 percent, and imports reached USD 227.34 billion, up 38.1 percent.

 

Textile and apparel exports are calculated in RMB: from January to March 2021, the total textile and apparel exports was 423.33 billion yuan, up 33.8 percent, among which the textile exports were 206.81 billion yuan, up 30.6 percent, and the apparel exports were 216.52 billion yuan, up 37.5 percent. In March, textile and apparel exports reached 122.06 billion yuan, up 13.2 percent, of which textile exports reached 62.38 billion yuan, up 0.1 percent, and apparel exports reached 59.68 billion yuan, up 31.2 percent.

 

Textile and apparel exports are calculated in USD: from January to March 2021, the total textile and apparel exports was USD 65.1 billion, up 43.8 percent, among which the export of textiles was USD 31.81 billion, up 40.3 percent, and apparel exports were USD 33.29 billion, up 47.7 percent. In March, textile and apparel exports reached USD 18.92 billion, up 22.6 percent, of which textile exports reached USD 9.67 billion, up 8.4 percent, and apparel exports reached USD 9.25 billion, up 42.1 percent.
