The global export of knit accessories has slightly dropped 2.99 percent to USD 10,055.07 million in 2019 compared to USD 10,364.50 million in 2017. Total exports declined 10.36 percent in 2019 over the previous year, according to data from TexPro. Further, the exports are expected to move down to USD 9,026.94 million in 2022 with a rate of 10.23 percent from 2019.
The global import value of knit accessories was USD 6,102.12 million in 2017, which surged 6.40 percent to USD 6,492.61 million in 2019, according to Fibre2Fashion’s market analysis tool TexPro. Total imports decreased 0.60 percent in 2019 over the previous year and is expected to slash to USD 6,231.07 million in 2022 with a rate of 4.03 percent from 2019.
China (USD 6,464.28 million), U.S. (USD 363.73 million), Sri Lanka (USD 335.68 million) and Italy (USD 307.55 million) were the key exporters of knit accessories across the globe in 2019, together comprising 74.30 percent of total export. These were followed by Belgium (USD 256.02 million), Germany (USD 255.02 million) and Pakistan (USD 198.29 million).
From 2015 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of export value, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by US (95.50 percent), China (55.26 percent) and Sri Lanka (46.15 percent).
U.S. (USD 1,386.41 million), Germany (USD 551.22 million), Japan (USD 532.94 million), France (USD 368.41 million) and UK (USD 358.84 million) were the key importers of knit accessories in the globe in 2019, together comprising 49.25 percent of total import. These were followed by Belgium (USD 264.01 million), Netherlands (USD 201.45 million) and Russia (USD 188.84 million).
From 2015 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of import value, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by UK (46.50 percent), France (18.07 percent) and Germany (12.80 percent).
