The general operation of dyeing and printing industry maintained a trend of slow stabilization during the 12^th Five Year Program period with obvious results in science and technology, management, energy conservation and environmental protection as well as the balanced development of the industries. Chen Zhihua, president of China Dyeing and Printing Association (CDPA), said that the dyeing and printing industry has increased the intensity of eliminating the outdated capacity, promoting and applying the advanced technologies and equipments, reducing consumption, upgrading quality and increasing efficiency, making solid progress in transformation and upgrading of the industry as well as optimization of industrial structure. The industry’s main business revenue, profits, exports, investment and other economic indicators have achieved steady growth especially under the condition of the production fall in dyeing and printing cloth, which fully showed the overall level of dyeing and printing industry is improving.

 

The dyeing and printing industry accelerated scientific and technological innovation with remarkable achievements during the 12^th Five Year Program period. Efficient short process of scouring and bleaching, biological enzyme pretreatment, cold pad-bath pretreatment, cotton fabric bleach at low temperature, Continuous open-width pretreatment of the knitted fabric and other energy conservation and emission reduction pretreatment processing technologies are widely popularized and applied. Cold pad-batch dyeing, low liquor ratio dyeing, low salt and low alkaline dyeing, chemical fiber and cotton blended fabric dyeing, one-bath process dyeing technologies are also generalized. Inkjet printing got fast development in terms of equipments, ink and product development. Mr. Chen also said that technical innovation will provide powerful support for promoting industrial energy saving and environmental protection with the continuous improvement and promotion of the industrial level.

 

Moreover, the management level of dyeing and printing industry has achieved a qualitative leap during the 12^th Five Year Program period with further implement of elaborate management, integration of informatization management and technology, further connection of enterprise operation management and internet technology. The popularization and application of the level 3 metrological management, chemical control, ERP management and intelligent management have greatly improved the quality of products in dyeing and printing industry as well as the efficiency of the enterprise production so that the green development of the industry can be sustained on a source-securable basis.

 

Dyeing and printing is an important part in textile industry, playing a key role in promoting the added value of the products and bearing heavy pressures of energy conservation and environmental protection. It is worth mentioning that the dyeing and printing industry upgraded the speed of transformation by comprehensive optimization of the industrial structure, relying on technology and management innovation, reducing the new increment of the pollutants from the source, which have achieved such a huge success on energy conservation and emission reduction, green environmental protection that the emission of major pollutants has decreased by 10% , a compulsory goal set forth during the 12^th Five Year Program period. The CDPA held the environmental protection annual convention and technical seminars for new technology, new process, new equipment and new products for many years. Besides issuing “Recommended technology catalogue for energy conservation and emission reduction in national dyeing and printing industry” regularly, the CDPA also actively organized the on-site promotional activities, focusing on the key technologies and carrying out energy conservation and emission reduction training for workers. In order to realize the normalized green industry development by strengthening the energy conservation and environmental protection as a mechanism, the CDPA has established Environmental Conservation Specialized Committee and a technological innovation strategic alliance for wastewater treatment of textile dyeing and printing industry and recycled water resource utilization. Chen Zhihua also expressed that energy conservation and environmental protection should be penetrated into the development of the industry as an important index, realizing the balanced development with management innovation and sustainable and sound development.
