At present, the world textile industry is at an important juncture of transformation and development. How to grasp the strategic opportunity period and realize the greater value of the industry is a common topic for the global textile industry. China’s textile industry, as the key area of the international high-quality production cooperation and the key force for the smooth operation of the world textile industry system, has effectively promoted the industrialization process of the countries along the “Belt and Road” and the development of related industries. Integration and mutual benefit have become an important trend and consensus for the development of the global textile industry.
On September 27 - 29, 2019 the Second World Textile Merchandising Conference will be held in Keqiao District, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. With the aim of “win-win cooperation and responsible development”, the conference aims to implement the spirit of the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the Second “Belt and Road” Forum for International Cooperation, and to show the principles of cooperation, co-construction and sharing. Keqiao, as the world’s textile industry clusters, is committed to building a global textile communication platform, achieving optimal allocation of elements for the global textile economy, opening up more space for the world’s textile economic growth, and finding the optimal development path.
The Second World Textile Merchandising Conference will continue to link up high-end and high-quality resources in the global industrial chain. At that time, there will be leaders from relevant government departments and textile and apparel industry clusters, managers of textile and apparel industry associations in about 25 countries, as well as more than 1,000 representatives of well-known enterprises such as textile and apparel research and design institutions, colleges and universities, global textile fabrics, clothing, fibers, machinery, home textiles, dyeing and finishing.
The three highlights of the Second World Textile Merchandising Conference are more distinctive themes, richer themes content and more diverse participants. Eighteen conferences and supporting activities, such as industrial seminars, academic exchanges, intellectual property rights, international competitions, skills competitions and visits, have fully enriched the three-day agenda. It clearly presents the development and future of the global textile industry under the new situation.
The conference will focus on the theme of “open collaboration, technology driven, fashion transformation”, and explore in depth the issues of value chain restructuring of the global textile industry chain, China’s position and development direction in the new layout of the world textile fashion industry. Under the goal of “green high-end, world-leading”, the conference will focus on the synergistic development of international textile industry exchanges and global textile industry based on the principles of consultation, co-construction and sharing, focus on innovative cooperation between science and technology in the strategic opportunity period, showing the results of the connection between textile academic and scientific research achievements and government resources and capital markets; conveying the value resonance and market integration based on the integration of culture and brand, as well as the market value and aesthetic value of creative design in the context of industry fashion transformation; conveying the new awareness of “science and technology, green and fashion” in China’s textile industry in the new era in an all-round way. Actively, openly and pragmatically promote the high-quality development trend of global industrial collaboration and cooperation, and highlight Keqiao’s new image as the textile discourse power in the world and the international textile city in the new era.
The conference consists mainly of: 2019 the Theme Conference of the Second World Textile Merchandising Conference, Global Fashion Industry Development Forum, Global Textile Digital Printing Summit, China Textile Fabric Pattern Copyright Protection Forum, the 15th Asian Textile Conference, Global Textile Industry International Cooperation Summit Forum, “Belt and Road” Textile Cooperation Forum, Textile and Apparel International Collaborative Innovation Management Forum, “China Textile City Cup” 2019 Global Fashion Design Elite Challenge, China Fashion Fabric Design Competition Award Ceremony, Private Enterprise Labor in the Yangtze River Delta Contest on-site exchanges and vocational skills competition for textile industry workers, visit the beautiful villages of Keqiao District. In the same period as the World Textile Merchandising Conference, there were 2019 Keqiao Fashion Week (autumn), 2019 China Shaoxing Keqiao International Textile Expo (autumn), and 2019 China Shaoxing Keqiao Textile International Trade Service Exhibition.
At the first World Textile Merchandising Conference in 2018, the World Textile Merchandising Conference Council was established, and the “Silk Road in Keqiao, Connect Whole World Together” program was launched, and many international production capacity projects were completed. On the basis of the good foundation laid down in the first conference, the “World Textile Merchandising Declaration” and the “World-class Textile Industry Cluster Pioneer Zone” awarding ceremony will also become the highlights of the Second World Textile Merchandising Conference.
The conference was supported by the International Textile Manufacturers Federation, the International Apparel Federation, the Federation of Asia-Pacific Retailer Association and the Federation of Asian Professional Textile Associations. “World Textile sees China, China Textile is in Keqiao.” As the world’s leading textile industry cluster, Keqiao has the world’s largest textile trade gathering place and the world’s largest dyeing and printing processing cluster. In 2018, Keqiao demonstrated the international image of China’s Keqiao 100 billion textile industry cluster by holding the first World Textile Merchandising Conference, and opened a new door for Keqiao textile to go abroad. Under the major opportunities of jointly building the “Belt and Road” and the Yangtze River Delta integration national strategy, Keqiao District will organize the second World Textile Merchandising Conference in 2019, further highlighting Keqiao’s unique industrial advantages in the global textile field.
