To discuss the revitalization plan of real economy of textile industry

On April 17, sponsored by China Textile Enterprise Association, Taiwan Textile Federation, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Fujian, as well as People’s Government of Shishi City, the 8 China Textile and Apparel Entrepreneur’s Day & Maritime Silk Road Meeting was held in Shishi city. All the representatives made a in-depth communication around the theme of “fashion technology &collaborative innovation”, to seek the way to improve competitiveness and realize sustainable and healthy development.
Zhang Yongan, deputy mayor of Shishi People’s Government delivered a welcome speech. He indicated that Shishi Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government put forward a development strategy of making a powerful city by innovation and transformation, so as to accelerate the collaborative innovation of technological system, focus on basic research on key technologies and application, promote the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements, boost the overall improvement of technical equipment and level of product development, as well as propel the development of textile and apparel industry clusters towards individuation, fashion and high-end orientation.
Xia Lingmin, vice president of China National Textile and Apparel Council, made a keynote statement on how the industry operated and how to improve its competitiveness. He said that there still were many uncertainties in the development of the industry, but it was expected to remain stable operation with a slight rise in export.
Weng Maozhong, vice chairman of Taiwan Textile Federation, said the textile between mainland and Taiwan was a “community of destiny”, which had a strong complementary and a huge potential for cooperation. Facing the fierce competitive environment and the new situation of cross-strait relations, we sincerely expected to strengthen exchanges and deepened cooperation, and further enhanced the level of cross-strait industrial cooperation and global competitiveness, through jointly developing and creating brands, making standards and exploring markets.
Yang Xiaoqin, deputy secretary general of Taiwan Textile Federation, indicated that Taiwan textile industry has made a significant progress and the stock market value reached to a new high point. Taiwan has gradually become the development and production base of unctional and environmentally friendly textiles. In the future, the demands for sportswear, environmentally friendly and intelligent textiles would continue to rise.
After many years of accumulation, the textile and apparel entrepreneurs' day has become a excellent docking platform with brand effect. Entrepreneurs from many countries and regions carried out docking in form of promotion conference and face to face negotiation. The cooperation has a great potential no matter in depth or in extent. Especially under the sluggish demands in global, the exchanges and cooperation among all participating parties will promote China’s textile industry to be stronger.
