On April 18, the Textile and Apparel Industry Alliance of Shishi was formally established, which was the first alliance to focus on industry, and also the first counties and municipal level alliance in textile and apparel industry, as well as the first alliance of the related associations of Shishi. The alliance attracted nearly 400 members, gathered together 13 social groups related to textile industry, and covered more than 4,000 enterprises, realizing the most complete and best integration of textile and apparel industry, to promote the innovation and transformation of Shishi textile and apparel industry, from government to enterprise, and community to individual.
Under the new economic norm, textile and apparel industry also encountered a bottleneck in the development. Shishi textile and apparel industry suffered throes of transformation, especially for small and medium- sized enterprises, and collaborative development and upgrading and transformation have become the consensus of the whole society and the whole industry. Shishi textile and apparel industry has held a special seminar on how to effectively cope with the challenges as early as 2015, to explore the feasibility of organizing industry alliance, and also the concept of “Textile and Apparel Industry Alliance of Shishi” was put forward for the first time.
In the work report of 7th congress of party representatives held in July 2016, put forward that we should actively build a association union and a public service platform of the whole industry chain, including R&D of technology, quality inspection, property protection, marketing planning and information service, with the key of optimization of textile and garment industry. In December, the government work report of 7th Municipal People’s Congress, indicated that we should build a whole industrial association union of textile industry, give policy and financial support to promote cross-border integration and seamless docking, so as to play its leading role in industrial transformation and upgrading.
In view of this, Shishi City Party Committee and the municipal government put forward the development strategy of innovation & transformation and building powerful city by industry, to promote textile and apparel industry making 65% contribution to GDP. Although the advantages are decreasing, there still exists abundant foundation in textile and apparel industry, especially from spinning, weaving, dyeing and printing to garment processing, clothing design, brand marketing and talent accumulation, which forms a complete set of supporting facility with strong base. From perspective of industrial development, Shishi City Party Committee and the municipal government integrate its advanced textile and apparel industry clusters with high standard, thus promoting the establishment of Textile and Apparel Industry Alliance of Shishi.
On April 14, 2017, Shishi government formally issued a notice of “Several measures to support the development of Textile and Apparel Industry Alliance of Shishi”, which aims to support and encourage the cooperation between alliance and enterprises, so as to promote the development of enterprises. Textile and garment enterprises actively join the alliance family, and at present, the alliance has gathered many leading enterprises and nearly 400 member enterprises. The alliance plays the advantages of embracing and its extensive influence to service enterprises and revitalize industry.
