The 8th National Knitting Science and Technology Conference held in Haining

The 6th Session of the 6th Standing Member Conference of China Knitting Industry Association and the 8th National Knitting Science and Technology Conference kicked off in Haining, Zhejiang Province on April 10th. The conference announced the establishment of the Dyeing and Printing Branch of China Knitting Industry Association, with Fong’s National Engineering (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. as the President Unit, and held the award ceremony for Dyeing and Printing Branch of China Knitting Industry Association as well as the President Unit and Vice President Units of the Printing and Dyeing Branch of China Knitting Industry Association. In the same period, the conference also witnessed the signing ceremony between the organizer and co-organizers of 2018 China Skills Competition － 2018 National Textile Flat Knitting Machine Operator Vocational Skill Competition, and read out the decision to commend outstanding papers of the 8th National Knitting Science and Technology Conference.
Yu Yaming, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Haining Municipal Committee and Deputy Mayor of the Haining Municipal People’s Government, addressed the conference and briefly introduced the basic situation of Haining. In 2017, the city achieved a total GDP of 86.6 billion RMB, fiscal revenue of 13.56 billion RMB. In 2017, the total above-designated industrial output value was 163.25 billion RMB, and the industrial added value was 31.8 billion RMB. In 2017, Haining’s textile industry achieved a gross industrial output value of 51.06 billion RMB, a year-on-year increase of 16.5%. Among them, the warp knitting industry realized a total industrial output value of 21.674 billion RMB, an increase of 18.0% year on year.
Wei Guofeng, Secretary of Party Working Committee of Zhejiang Haining Warp Knitting Industrial Park and Director of the Management Committee made a keynote speech at the address. Under the new situation, Haining Warp Knitting Industrial Park will build high-quality platforms, create high-quality industries, cultivate high-quality enterprises, and provide high-quality services, so as to further adapt to the new normal and develop new advantages. “Last year, Haining Municipal Committee and the municipal government made the decision to expand the capacity of the Warp Knitting Industrial Park, from the current 8.96 square kilometers to 21.48 square kilometers, aiming to create a national-level characteristic industrial park.” Haining Warp Knitting Industrial Park is implementing transformation and upgrading of the warp knitting industry, and guiding the warp knitting companies to transform into the field of industrial textiles with higher technological content, higher industrial level and wider application range. The park will focus on cultivating high-tech companies and enhance their core competitiveness.
Yang Jichao, Vice President of China National Textile and Apparel Council and President of China Knitting Industry Association, analyzed the macroeconomic situation, the current economic operation of China textile industry, the performance of China knitting industry, as well as both domestic and overseas markets, and introduced the future work priorities of China Knitting Industry Association. The 8th National Knitting Science and Technology Conference held in the same period was divided into three special fields: Green Production, Intelligent Manufacturing & Knitting Materials Application, and Warp Knitting. Experts, scholars and representatives from industry associations, universities and companies conducted in-depth discussions on the theme of the conference.
