“Textile New Technology Innovation Space”: For the scientific and technological innovation heights

“Textile New Technology Innovation Space”, sponsored by China National Textile and Apparel Council and co-organized by Science & Technology Development Department of CNTAC, China Textile Entrepreneur Association, and Shishi Municipal People’s Government, was staged for the second time in Shishi again during the 2nd International Maritime Silk Road Expo and the 20th Straits Textile Clothing Fair.

It is introduced that naming it an “innovation space” is to implement the innovation-driven development strategy, adapt to and lead the new normal of economic development, and conform to the new trend of public innovation, thus encouraging the industry to develop new technology, new materials, new products, and new models, and to create a featured “new space” based on interaction, display, and experiences.

“Textile New Technology Innovation Space”, located in the first floor of Shishi International Textile Mall, covered an area of 200 square meters. Themed on “green, ecological, and sustainable”, the activity intended to fully dig the rich textile natural raw materials and biomass resources, in order to display China’s development of “new technologies, new materials, and new products” in recent years for more cooperation and exchanges.

The Special New Fibers & Products Zone gathered a total of 14 enterprises and colleges and universities, displaying the natural special fibers and the corresponding products, as well as the bio-based chemical fibers with main characteristics of biological basis, presenting the industry a “green, ecological, and sustainable” theme to build a new textile image of “green ecology” from the source.

Six companies exhibited in the New Equipment & Technology Zone, four of which displayed the latest developed textile online monitoring and product inspection and testing equipment for on-site interactive experiences and demonstration exchanges with professionals, technical personnel and the audience.

The University Achievements Zone, represented by Wuhan Textile University, exhibited the latest scientific and technological achievements, trying to form an industry-university-research collaborative innovation system through in-depth cooperation with the enterprises in Shishi, Quanzhou and other cities.

According to Peng Yanli, Deputy Secretary-General of CNTAC & Director of Science & Technology Development Department of CNTAC, “This year, the Textile New Technology Innovation Space with  more abundant categories of exhibits, such as biomass fiber and natural fiber, has won strong support of institutions, displaying a variety of industry-university-research cooperation results.”

Yang Jun, Executive Vice President of China Textile Entrepreneur Association, expressed: “The main task of China Textile Entrepreneur Association can be summarized as one body with two wings, of which the main body refers to management and  innovation, while the two wings respectively refer to boosting the capital and industry cooperation and promoting the scientific and technological achievements market-oriented. From the perspective of the industry, to promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in the industry is an important part of our cooperation with Shishi, aiming to promote the cooperation between the upstream and downstream through various forms and channels.”
