According to the Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation reported on July 3, investors from Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province, China, plan to invest 500 million U.S. dollars in the construction of the textile industrial park in the city of Dire Dawa.

Yesterday, a government delegation led by Du Xiaogang, secretary of the Kunshan Municipal Party Committee, visited Dire Dawa. Du Xiaogang said that Kunshan investors will build a textile industrial park here in the next two years and share the development experience of the industrial park with Ethiopia.

Kodel, Director of Dire Dawa Industrial Investment Bureau, said that the city government will go all out to support the construction of industrial parks. Lloyd, CEO of Ethiopian Industrial Park Development Corporation, said that Kunshan helped Ethiopia to create jobs and build a bridge between industrial parks and universities (Kunshan plans to use industrial parks as a base for college students).

It is reported that Dire Dawa and Kunshan City plan to sign a sister city agreement next month.
