Global Textile and Apparel Supply Chain Conference 2017 made it a success

From April 19 to 20, Global Textile and Apparel Supply Chain Conference 2017 was held in Shishi, Fujian, which was based on the most developed textile and apparel industry cluster of China, and devoted to improving the management level and competition of supply chain of China textile and apparel enterprises, so as to promote the cooperation and joint innovation for enterprises in international supply chain. In the ten-year development history, the organizers of conference considered the development of China textile supply chain, from color transfer to mass effect, from rapid response to innovation mechanism, from optimization to brand model, from risk management to collaborative innovation, as well as from industrial convergence to intelligent manufacturing. The theme of the conference was “Supply chain integrity and industry cooperation”, in accordance with global environment, where the world economy has entered the deep adjustment, and China’s economy has slowed down, so enterprises faced different challenges of supply china. The event invited more than 600 people, including experts, leaders, and business representatives in textile and apparel industry from all over the world.
"In the process of promoting industrial innovation and transformation, we are deeply aware that the current textile and garment industry has ushered in the era of pattern reconstruction, and formed a new ecosystem, where integrity coordination is one of the key elements. In the new ecosystem, integrity is an invaluable asset, and enterprises are based on good faith to realize win-win cooperation and to promote the rapid response of the industrial chain. In the Internet era, it has been the trend of times for disruptive reform, chain-type collaboration and sharig economy.” Zhu Qiping, municipal party secretary of the People’s Government of Shishi, said in the opening ceremony. He also added that with the theme of supply chain and industrial collaboration, the conference devoted to deeply research how to make a good use of global supply chain, seek the best benefit of green supply chain, and build a more effective supply chain logistics system. So we expected to build a bridge for the exchange among scholars, enterprises and markets and inspired innovative thoughts to promote cooperation and mutual benefits through collision of ideas and exchange of experience.
Chen Dapeng, vice president of China National Textile and Apparel Council and executive vice president of China National Garment Association, indicated that after ten years of development, Global Textile and Apparel Supply Chain Conference has achieved a certain brand effect and influence, becoming a bridge of textile and apparel industry to integrate innovation and development. At present, China’s textile and apparel industry has entered a new period of transformation and upgrading, all the ambitious enterprises were considering and exploring how to make an amazing turnaround, and became an important part with competitiveness in global supply chain. In face of globalization, enterprises were constantly improving its own global supply chain, and actively participate in international competition. The supply chain cooperation model based on the interests of enterprises was in a more open and trustful way to meet the opportunities and challenges.
At the meeting, Sun Ruizhe, President of China National Textile ans Apparel Industry, delivered a keynote speech entitled “Textile and apparel supply chain integrity and industrial collaboration”. Sun Ruizhe said: “In the whole operation of textile and apparel supply chain, it will be the most cost-effective and competitive option for the industry to select and respect integrity, as well as stimulate and make good use of collaboration.” in this speech, Sun Ruizhe focused on the analysis of the six features of China textile and garment supply chain and the specific strategy to promote the harmonious, efficient and sustainable development of supply chain. In the summary of achievements and current situation of the industry, Sun Ruizhe pointed out that China’s textile and apparel industry faced three contradictions: innovation development & transformation and upgrading, production structure & effective demand, environmental constraints & economic development; also coordinated three relations: industry with society, environment and consumption; experienced three transformations: traditional industry to high-tech industry, fashion industry and green industry; as well as finally build three pillars: manufacturing industry pillar, high-tech industry pillar and fashion industry pillar.
Based on the macro background of the textile industry, Su Ruizhe introduced the new changes of China textile and garment supply chain from six aspects of multinational layout, cost pressure, operational efficiency, terminal channel, consumption upgrade and responsibility of development, from which he stressed the necessity to build integrity mechanism of supply chain and put forward some work suggestions from the level of industry, enterprise and society. At the same time, he indicated that the establishment of supply chain integrity mechanism would effectively the effect of industry cooperation and made a detailed combing from the aspects of information sharing, management collaboration and mutual win.
At the meeting, Liang Yong, Deputy Secretary General of the People’s Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region said that the supply chain was a shortcoming, so we decided to build men’s accessories trade center. We distributed 20,000 square meters for the enterprises and ensured that they could operate without loss. In addition, we created a specific project to expand international market of textile products and encouraged more enterprises to build manufacturing base and exported to Europe by China-Europe Train.
Textile and apparel supply chain is the value chain with vertical extension and transverse radiation. The cooperation and integrity of supply chain is the key element to build healthy and sustainable textile industry chain. China’s textile industry lies in intermediate link of global textile and apparel supply chain, so it’s of importance to build integrity and cooperative supply chain for improving he quality and efficiency of supply chain. The keynote speech analyzed some topics such as element exchange, digital supply chain, visual interconnection of supply chain, from the perspective of integrity and cooperation.
